Top 5 Best Blogging Sites in 2012!

There are several blog sites out there all varying with different schemes and popularity. If you are confused and wondering as to what blog site to use, here are my top 5 picks in reverse order that could help you with that problem.

5. Weebly

best blog sites

Weebly is a brilliant web building tool and blogging service designed for those novice and "non-techie" type of users. This offers a step by step blog and website development process that can make anyone use it to its fullest potential. You can have a free account which is upgradable to a professional account for more features and privileges. One thing that i appreciate about Weebly is its customizable pages but however makes it as its downfall for other users because it only makes the interface more complicated and time consuming.

4. Xanga

Xanga is one of the older blogging sites but definitely more for personal use. It is a social blogging community which allows the user to start his or her own free weblog, share photos and videos, and even meet new friends. Although Xanga had already lost its popularity from the rise of the newer sites, crowds of the younger age tend to stick with this site because they are much more used with its interface.

3. Posterous

free blog sites

Posterous is a “microblogging” service like Tumblr. The user is able to post images, videos, text, and audio. Like Tumblr, you can change your theme easily but unlike Tumblr, reblogging is not allowed. Posts can also be imported from any number of sources and will also be updated to Facebook and Twitter. An interesting thing about this blog is that you can easily submit post by simply e-mailing it to post@posterous.com. After that, you will automatically sign up for an account and your blog will be created.

2. Wordpress

Wordpress is one of the most popular blog sites today. It is a free, Web-based software program that anyone can use to create and maintain a blog or website. It was originally intended as an easy way to set up a blog. But, thanks to the efforts of a large “open source” community of WordPress programmers working to extend and improve its capabilities, WordPress has become much more than just a tool for bloggers. This blog has a simple interface that enables anyone to post and customize schemes or themes easily.

1. Blogger

Claiming the first spot of my top 5 blog  sites is the Google powered Blogger. This is a free blog publishing service that allows the users to post time-stamped entries. Blogger indeed reached the 1st place of popularity and number of registered users. The blog site's simple but brilliant interface, ease of use, and customizable themes and backgrounds were the features that made this blog site a top favorite for the majority of bloggers and blog enthusiasts out there.
